Hopes and Fears (and What’s Next)

The day after the election, I opened up the sanctuary at my synagogue for a time of reflection. As a Jewish community, the election of Donald Trump means so many things, that we needed to come together in sacred space and be with one another.

As part of that, I handed out cards of two different colors. On one I invited people to share their hopes and on the other their fears. Volunteers then read out the cards so we were able to model community members supporting one another (i.e., individuals didn’t speak, we all spoke)

You can read the results here.

I am again inviting people to gather tomorrow (Wednesday) at 7:30 p.m. to talk next steps. The first time was for just being. Now is the time for acting.

What can/should we do? Come talk about it.

Thanks for continuing the conversation!
