A prayer for peace and healing, after the Aleynu:
עַל כֵּן
נְקַוֶּה לְּךָ
ה' אֱלהֵינוּ
לִרְאות מְהֵרָה
Al Ken
Nekaveh Lecha
Adonai Eloheynu
Lirot Meheyra
And so
We put our hope in You,
Our God,
That soon we will witness:
That all are safe and seen
and all are fed and free,
That all have what they need,
and all can be at peace.
That neither bomb nor bullet
nor fist nor foot
fall upon
home, hospital,
school, market,
car, camp,
street, shelter,
or anywhere in this world.
That hate subsides
and love increases.
That the power of the many
outweighs the hubris of the few.
That no one lives in fear
of nature or another.
And for our sake,
and the sake of
our ancestors
our elders
our families
our communities
our children
our descendants,
for the sake of all humanity
and all life on earth,
That bloodshed and violence and destruction ceases.
We turn towards You,
Our God,
by turning towards each other,
by bending the knee to compassion and beauty,
by swearing dignity for all who dwell on earth.
May our broken hearts and bodies,
and our wounded souls and spirits,
find wholeness and healing and repair.
Shunning falsehood and evil
and idolatrous division,
we seek truth and righteousness
and sacred unity.
We put our hope in You,
Our God.
And also humbly declare:
עָלֵינוּ
Aleynu
It is up to us.
Thanks for continuing the conversation!
